Frequently asked questions
How is this different from an architect?
An architect designs the building and its structure. An interior architect works on the lived space: interior volumes, partitions, light, materials, built-in furniture. On projects that touch the structure or the facade, we work alongside an architect and an engineer.
Do I need a permit to renovate an interior in Switzerland?
Not for purely interior work that leaves the structure and facades untouched. As soon as a window, a load-bearing wall or the use of a room changes, a permit may be required. We check this during the concept phase and prepare the file if needed.
How long does an interior architecture project take?
Allow 4 to 7 months for a complete apartment, from the first meeting to handover. The schedule is agreed with you at the end of the concept phase and tracked week by week during construction.
Do you work outside Lausanne and Geneva?
Yes. We work across French-speaking Switzerland, as well as in Zurich, Zug and Haute-Savoie. Our bases are in Lausanne, Allaman and Chamonix.
